Dishonest, Horrible and Unprofessional

stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full
Please take this warning very seriously for it is based on actual events. EZ Movers is a scam company. They charged way more then quoted, charges $500 more to get out of their storage onto another company’s truck and charge $600 for the storage that they promised would be free. Overall horrible nightmare and I warn anybody that’s doing their homework right now to never use this company, you will be sorry that you did, as I am now. Not only are things broken, but things are missing. No hardware for beds, dressers etc that were taken apart, no cords for electrical products that were wrapped and no regard for belongings. Customer service was a nightmare and when I went there to complain in person, absolutely nobody that is in charge happened to be anywhere to be found. I waited for 4 hours and not a siting. This is no way to treat customers and no way to do business. I was threatened with a lawsuit if I posted a negative review, well good luck with that because I’m warning everyone that I can with the hopes that they take their business elsewhere before getting ripped-off by EZ Movers.

Horrible Experience

stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full
EZ Movers - Horrible Experience
EZ Movers - Horrible Experience - Image 2
There were several issues during my move that made for a very bad experience: 1.Gabriel- one of the men delivering my things to my new apartment sexually harassed me by doing the following: asking me for my phone number, asking me to be the star of his Youtube channel, asking me what my favorite food was and then telling me he could cook a “mean grilled chicken” for me, asking me if we could talk, repeatedly asking me to text him so that he could save my number, calling me pet name like “sweetie” and getting visibly angry when I spoke to the other delivery men. 2.Multiple things were broken including several dishes when my things were delivered to my new apartment and my desk. See attached photo. 3.Multiple boxes were completely soaked. See attached photo. 4.During the move from my old apartment I paid and signed all the paperwork and left my mother at the apartment while the men finished up. She texted me minutes after I left and said the men were using their shirts to wipe their foreheads and exposing their bodies to her. 5.When Juan showed up at my new apartment he told me that since my apartment was 150 feet from the elevator he had to charge me an additional $375. He told me that we could keep that between us if I gave him $200 in cash. Notwithstanding the obvious issue, I don’t believe the $375 was a proper charge. He used no measuring tool to determine that the elevator was 150ft away. Additionally, when I moved out of my old apartment, it was a third floor walk up and I was not charged this $375 fee. 6.Several of my items were not reassembled when the deliverers came to my new apartment, specifically: parts of my living room TV stand were lost during the move so my TV could not be assembled, my desk was too damaged during the move to be reassembled, my sofa bed could not be fully reassembled because the movers did not have the proper tools. 7.During the delivery to my new apartment, I and a woman for my apartment complex maintenance team was asked to help move things into my apartment. I had to lift boxes more than 20 pounds, move large items, hold doors open, pull large and heavy items on a dolly and assist with the coordination of the doors. The movers had no door stoppers or any items that movers typically have. 8.I feel like I was severely overcharged. My original estimate was $1677.24 and somehow throughout the process I was charged nearly $1000.00 additional. The first issue is that when Greg took my order he never told me that any additional items – more than what I told him- would be an additional charge, he made it seem as if I was just telling him the basics in order for him to give me an estimate. Second, I was never told that I needed TV boxes, mattress covers and the like or I would be charged. This should have been made very clear to be. Additionally, I told Greg that my new apartment had freight elevators and that I was on the 6th floor, he never told me that I would be subject to an additional $375 fee if the apartment was more than 150ft from the elevator. 9.When Juan had me sign all of the closing paperwork he filled out the survey for me and made me sign it. I did not fill out the survey, he filled it out for himself and acted as if I had to sign in order for him to leave. 10.None of the men who did delivery to my new apartment had any pertinent tools, like pocket knives to cut tape and boxes. I had to provide a pocket knife to them. With all of that said, I feel this company engaged in unfair and unprofessional business practices. My initial assent to this contract did not include being sexually harassed, assisting with the move, providing tools to the moving men etc. Being sexually harassed as a single woman in an apartment with three men is extremely alarming. I did not know whether I would be assaulted and feared for my health and safety. It goes without saying that I am deeply disappointed in all that has occurred. I truly hope that other customers aren’t subjected to the disturbing experience that I have had.

Terrible Company and Move—Do Not Use!

stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full
If you came here expecting a review out of the ordinary—a silver lining to the bleak reviews you must surely have seen already, then you are in the wrong place. Please take a moment to read this review. Like the others on the page, I hope it serves to steer you in a better direction and towards a better company. E-Z Movers as an entity, from top to bottom, was a shining example of unprofessionalism, dishonesty, and callousness, with a “customer last” mindset. The Sale: My first conversation with Greg Davis from E-Z was pleasant. He was honest, straightforward, and struck me as a man of his word. We discussed pricing, inventory, and estimated scheduling. He gave me his personal work line to call if I had any trouble, and assured me the move would be easy and pain-free. The sale was smooth—a well-rehearsed dance, fully practiced time and time again, a trap to lure unsuspecting customers. And it worked, the sale was made. The Pickup: E-Z Movers arrived to my home in an 18-wheeler truck, but with only 1 man at the helm. For a cross country move, with two bedrooms’ worth of belongings—you do the math. What I had hoped would be a quick and easy process, immediately took a turn. With only 1 mover, I was forced to personally help him move my belongings onto the truck. I haven’t yet looked up minimum wage rates or union fees, but I can assure you, there was no discount for my service. Moving can be hard, I may have been able to look past this inconvenience had it not been for the absolute incompetence and bigotry spewing from the mouth of this mover—a direct representative of E-Z. The slew of racial jokes, comments, and statements barred no regard for anyone in his presence. The pure anti-Semitism and apparent hate for African-Americans made me want to cancel my order on the spot. My suggestion—if you find yourself in a position to pay this company for your move and you are not a white male, don’t. Go elsewhere. The Limbo: Once the truck left our driveway, our belongings descended into a virtual limbo. Our original estimate of 10 days was quickly transitioned to the maximum 21 business day estimate. We were told numerous reasons at this point. First, our mover failed to turn in his portion of the moving paperwork, so our belongings sat in storage. Next, we were told our belongings were in Chicago one day, and California the next. We never did get a straight answer. A Call to E-Z: At this point we were nervous. Nervous that our goods were stolen, lost, broken—it was impossible to truly know. I made a call to Greg Davis. As gracious as he was in the past, this time proved to be different. Not only was he unresponsive and generally unknowledgeable about the business he claimed to represent, he took an argumentative stance and chose to yell at me instead of assist me. I was shocked and appalled by his position and his words over the phone. He didn’t know where our things where, nor did he care. At this juncture, I chose to call again, but this time I requested to speak with a manager. Generally speaking, those in charge are generally more responsible—wrong again. This gentleman was even worse than Greg Davis. He yelled at me, yelled at my girlfriend, and told us to “get over it” and that our things will “get there when they get there.” We were stuck. They had our things and there was nothing we could do. Day 21-The Delivery: Only hours away from calling the Department of Transportation and the Police to report a Grand Theft, our belongings arrived. Fuming from this already awful process, the delivery was fortunately easy and indeed a bright spot in this company. The man who delivered, Georgi Donev, was quick, friendly, and didn’t charge extra. He got the job done in a degree which based upon the rest of this company, should elevate him to management. If there was anyone silver lining to be had in this entire process, he was it. E-Z Movers is deceitful, aggressive, and overall—the worst moving company you can possibly go with. My advice, choose anyone but them. I hope this helps.

EZ Movers Scam!

stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full
I’m very sorry for the negative experience you had with us. We make every effort to keep our clients as informed as possible for every potential circumstance that may or may not arise. As a consumer, you have every right to post reviews and seek legal counsel as you mentioned in your contact with EZ Movers. However, I ask that you include all facts in your communication with your attorney and any reviews you post. Include the confirmation letter, which you signed and returned agreeing to the terms set forth within that document (and to be clear, I’m not talking “fine print” on the bottom of the page, I’m talking about items written in bold, some underlined, and others highlighted, all completely visible). Include the multiple estimate emails you received prior to scheduling the move, which also contain all of our terms and conditions as well as other important details pertaining to your move. Specifically make mention in your reviews, the inaccurate information you provided to EZ Movers which was the direct cause of your frustration. After all, how can EZ Movers provide you with an accurate quote if the information provided by you is inaccurate and incomplete? Also mention in your reviews that you were given the option to pick up ONLY based on the information you provided to EZ Movers, that we were willing to pick up the exact list of items provided by you for the exact same cost estimated, but you declined this option as you were well aware of the fact that the information you provided was inaccurate and incomplete. I don’t believe it’s reasonable to expect EZ Movers to pick up 70% more than what you told us about at the same cost. Think about that for a second; you had 70% more than what you told us about. I look forward to reading your review online. Please feel free to include this email in its entirety or not at all in whatever reviews you decide to post. Steven, Thanks for the reply. However, your salesman did exactly what he was supposed to do. He asked my wife about the square footage of the house, and most of the things that were in it. He was not specific and would ask, “roughly how many boxes?” He did what he was supposed to do and got the sale. Unfortunately; you, him, and your entire company’s customer service is by far the worst that I have ever seen. I don’t mind including the email that you sent in any review that I post. And here is why. I got a local company that came out, did the estimate and can do the job for the price that you quoted us. So in my reviews, which I’ve already posted a lot, I will add your email and let buyers know that it may have been more than what you quoted, but it was exactly what your company wanted to happen. So that way you could get there, have us in a bind and charge us more. And to never let a moving company especially yours do an over the phone quote. I have read so many reviews that are identical to mine. Your company told your driver’s to leave as soon as another company showed up to give us an estimate, we did not tell your driver’s to leave. Clearly your company knew that they were going to get outbid. Now you’re going to try to keep the down payment. It’s a bad business that you run, and it will hurt you more than help you. The $1100 that you are keeping may compensate your travel expenses and then some, but it will definitely not compensate for the reviews that you will consistently receive from my family and others. 2 people chatted me to thank me, and said that they will not be using you. That $1100 has already been lost for your company. I truly hope that you get what you deserve and I am confident that you will.

Please please please...Do not use this company. You will regret it! My family and I have never moved out of state, and the stress that they put us through was unbelievable. They quoted us $4600. 2 men showed up with a semi and said that it will be about $8300. Daniel, the coordinator was great, until we called to question this new price. They refused to give us our deposit of $1100 back. They are dishonest and unprofessional. Please Don't fall for their scam!

My worst experience ever

stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full
The worst moving experience ever!! Moving long distance is already a stressful exercise and e-z movers did nothing but add on to that stress, right form the beginning to the end. Their approach was highly unprofessional, in fact it seemed like once i signed up with them ...it was just blackmail and harrassment. they have been indimidating me into agreeing to whatever they say because they are having my stuff and i need that come what may. *Daniel (the move co-cordinator)was intimidating and we eevn had a yelling contest at one stage but i ended up apologising fearing the loss to my stuff. * They did not deliver the stuff on time and conveniently blamed me for not telling them when to bring in the stuff. now, who would do tht...apparently , they wanted a form to be signed which would initiate the delivery process. It was supposed to be signed by us once the driver had picked our stuff, which the driver did not do. Now, it is my fault cos they say tht we have used e-z movers once before and we shud be aware of the process. Not signign tht form was my mistake. * eventually the form signing formalities were done and the delivery process begins....and so begins the wait cos they give you a 10 business day window when the stuff will reach you. we waited and waited while making numerous calls and facing hardships ( sleeping on the floor, not having enough clothes to wear, going without medication etc etc). * Finally, i get the 'call" tht my much awaited stuff will be delivered on friday,14th of august 2015 between 2 and 8 pm. I am happy ti see the end of my woes. I take a leave from office and stay at home waiting...nothing!! i call the driver and he says he cannot make it on friday but will come the next day. * the next day i already have appointments but will they budge, NO. i call e-z movers and the reply i get form Greg is well, we can dump ur things in a storage and will let u know that address, u can make ur own arrangements for getting it. Is this professional reply? instead of working on a solution with me, i am once again intimidated into cancelling my important appointments and waiting for them to deliver my stuff. i am done with e-z movers, never never again my friends and family are going to use them . they are the worst service providers ever. the worst was their attitude and rudeness...simply because we are left with no option but to give in to their demands. Pl pl never ever go anywhere near them... i lost a day at work due to them, i had to stay without medication, sleep on the hardwood floor, eat all my meals out with family. I think i am entitled to some compensation apart from an apology.

E-Z Movers, Skokie, IL - DISHONEST

If I could give E-Z Movers a negative star review instead of one star, I would. They don't even deserve the default star that Insider Pages is forcing me to give. Why? - They sent an estimator out to give us what we were told was a binding estimate. However, that estimator apparently underestimated our belongings and they tried to charge us $1,300 on top of the $7,000 binding estimate. - They sent a disrespectful and unprofessional packing crew to our home to pack our stuff. This crew threw (literally) our belongings into boxes in no order whatsoever, damaging items including toys, a sculpture and a guitar. They smoked in our condo building and left the truck completely unattended in an unlit alley in Chicago at 8:00pm at night. - They moved our piano to California and then did not reassemble it properly. - They told us that we had 90 days to file our claim, yet denied our claim twice for reasons contradictory to what we already had in writing from the company. To warn other consumers about E-Z Movers, we've written up our entire experience here: http://ezmoverschicagoreview.wordpress.com/ It's a long one. And maybe, just maybe, we'll save some unsuspecting people from these weasels.

Ez movers out of IL. is nothing but a SCAM and a FRAUD!

Do Not use them! They tried to bully us into paying $700 more than the estimate because they said we had 10 more boxes than they thought. Said "oh, well you have a mattress so that's extra." Duh, if I said I have a bed than yeah I have a mattress. Any professional company should know this.

They would not fix the price or give us our deposit back even though we didn't sign a contract!!! The guys who showed up to move us were two nice young Greeks who barely spoke English and were in a uhaul with AZ plates and with someone else's stuff already in it! Also, said it would take TEN business days to get my property.

I didn't let them take anything out of my apartment!!!!!!! Don't either :(
